The food hopper holds a good amount of food (we use kibble) and we’ve never had any problem with it getting stuck or not dispensing properly. The unit is also very quiet. We have two cats and they are both very interested in the unit when it’s Dispensing food, but it doesn’t bother them or startle them in any way.
The biggest problem we have with the unit is that our one cat, who is particularly lazy, has learned that if he sits in front of the unit and meows, it will dispense food early! So we’ve started putting a towel over the unit when we’re not home so he can’t “trick” it into giving him a snack. 😉
